ZALAR ART - A GLANCE INTO MY WORLD VOLUME 2 is my second ever art-book release This artbook consists of themes revolving around character development, hardship, navigating life as a young adult, the beautiful mundane, evolution, tranquility and more through the realm of illustration. Many of the illustrations hold a sense of surrealism, brutalism in their proposal while they are neutralised by more delicately proposed, calming illustrations to balance one another out and also represent the harshness meeting the softness of human existence. These collections of drawings were created in 8x8 inch sketchbooks during 2020-2023, with some exclusive work being made in 2024. These works explode with intensity, provoking feelings and thoughts through their transparent form of presentation and carefully executed use of colours. The drawings inside are sometimes accompanied with words for further context. The ending of this book happens to be an informally written piece upon self-preservation and survival.
Whereas Volume 1 is A5 in size, this Volume 2 book will be 8x8 inches, fitting to the original sizes the sketchbooks where these artworks were originally created.

This art-book is pocket-sized and intended to be flicked through over and over again. This book will be durable and exceptionally well made, but don't be afraid to wear it in. That's the way we love books right? To flick through, crease pages we love most, to shove in our bags when in a rush, to accidentally crumple them on our commute. Wherever this book joins you in your life, I hope it is seen, valued, and makes you feel loved.

Love this second book, it’s slightly larger than the first book and square in format so the images seem much bigger. It’s filled with images depicting all kinds of emotions, humour, sadness and joy in Ellie’s unique style and also has really interesting thoughts and creative writing dotted throughout too. Recommend buying a copy!

I seriously don’t know what else I can say about the artist and the art itself (same thing same thing Ellie is a masterful canvas breathing universes into each day). Yet another beautiful body of work, unsurprisingly. A must-have on everyone’s bookshelf, bag, coffee table and Ellie shrine (Wait…you don’t have an Ellie shrine? Just me? Oh okay). What a wonderful brain, beautiful human, undeniable talent and a heart made of gold. Thank you for your time, patience, work and effort into making your art accessible to us all.
