The Triskelion symbol is a Celtic/Gaelic symbol, with renditions of the same symbol found in other pagan, ancient cultures too. The triskelion symbol is highly desirable to many, for its aesthetic, almost illusive triple spiral formation, that forms a peculiar yet enticing shape, so simple yet so- intriguing. The triskelion has taken on many different interpretations. From the concept of it symbolising- birth, life and death/re-birth. To, womanhood, sisterhood and motherhood (maternal divinity/ identity as a sentient woman). To, community, heart, soul. And, more. The reason why I, personally love this symbol, is because it feels ancient, it feels powerful, it feels connective to my ancestors, it feels raw, it feels true. I believe symbology is fascinating, and how we can communicate with our ancestors with what they left behind for us- their legacy, their livelihood, their proof of existence. What a profound thing, life. I find life so unfathomable yet so sacred. This symbol kind of describes that, no words needed. Here is my cartoon/caricature take on the wonderful triskele.
